Oriental Dragon

I think the alternate build of the sea serpent from LEGO set 31161 looks pretty cool, but it’s a bit limited in terms of poseability. I’m wondering if it’s possible to modify it into an Eastern mythological dragon with a wider range of motion.

Review

When I was designing this Oriental Dragon, I initially thought the head would be the most time-consuming part. But it turned out, figuring out which parts of the dragon needed to be movable and making adjustments took up a lot more time.

I also had to make some compromises with the front leg structure to keep the colors harmonious, which made them a bit fragile. Overall, I’m happy with the poseability. It can stand on all fours or on its hind legs.

When I was working on the head, I debated whether to add whiskers. I finally decided to give it red whiskers, which I think is a unique feature of this dragon. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this MOC, so please leave a comment.
