7th November 2024 : Today, the LEGO Group unveils the LEGO Icons The Endurance set. This set allows history enthusiasts and LEGO fans to embark on a voyage of creativity and recreate Sir Ernest Shackleton’s iconic vessel in stunning detail.
The Endurance
The Endurance ship was the three-masted ship that sailed for The Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition from 1914–1917 and is considered to be the last major expedition of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.
Led by Sir Ernest Shackleton, the British explorer, the goal of the Antarctic Expedition was to cross the Antarctic continent from sea to sea via the South Pole. However, the expedition faced severe challenges, and Shackleton and his crew were stranded on the ice for months.
Demonstrating extraordinary leadership and determination, Shackleton led his men on a harrowing journey to safety.
